The mission of The Oregon Outback Waypoints Association (OOWA) is to enhance the public’s outdoor access and experience on Oregon’s remote public lands for all travelers.
OOWA works with townships, counties, and State and Federal land managers to develop ordinances, if needed, as well as a reliable network of routes that will improve and promote access to services such as fuel, lodging, and food.
Our system of Waypoints can be utilized by all classes of OHV users as well as Horseback riders, Snowmobilers, Mountain Bikers and Hikers. This is done by marking key locations on the ground, on maps, and in electronic GPS and PDF map formats; thereby assisting the public in navigating legal travel routes found on Federal Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM) and other map products. Downloadable file formats in GDB ( Garmin) GPX, KMZ and KML files can be found on this website and Facebook link to the right on this page.
Information on this website will show some of the legal routes with waypoints at key intersections and points of interest. Check with local agencies for possible seasonal, fire or other closures.
